By the end of the course the participants will know how to conduct a business systems analysis assignment, from the initial feasibility study and setting of objectives, fact-finding and investigation of the requirements, documentation, critical appraisal and production of the requirements specification in the most appropriate format for the project. These techniques and skills apply no matter what development approach the organisation uses - Agile, CMM, Waterfall, RUP, or a home-grown methodology.

Emphasis is placed on the close involvement that the analyst must have with the users and technical team at all levels of the organisation and building good relationship and communications skills is one of the most import aspects of the course.
